OnePlus 2 price officially confirmed by CEO of OP

The OnePlus 2 is coming and it’s getting closer. Although an exact OnePlus 2 specs sheet has not yet been confirmed, we have enough information about the hyped flagship to be able to get excited and hyped. The OnePlus 2 price was recently confirmed by the OnePlus CEO Peter Lau, and it’s as good as it gets. OnePlus has emphasized that their strategy with the OnePlus 2 is the same as it was with the One, and as such, the flagship will be as affordable as possible. The OnePlus 2 release date is set for July 27, so we’re definitely excited!

According to Peter Lau, the OnePlus 2 price will not exceed $450 unlocked, which means that we should expect two or even three variants of the phone to be launched, all with different prices. Since strategy is the same, storage variation will most likely make a $50 price difference, but the third variant might not be different when it comes to storage, but might be different when it comes to operating system or region.

Our sources tell us that the OnePlus 2 price will be $400 for the 64 GB version and $450 for the 128 GB version. The Chinese startup company has not confirmed storage variations as of yet, so take these estimates with a grain of salt. It could be that the OnePlus 2 will only have two storage variants like the One, namely 16 GB and 64 GB. That would be enough for many people out there, seeing as OnePlus One users are more interested in updates rather than upgrades.

The OnePlus One is still doing well on the market, which is why the OnePlus 2 release date is not being rushed and its price is still being kept as low as possible. Although fans are interested in the OnePlus 2 and are anxious to see it, the original flagship killer from last year made such a good name for itself that it doesn’t need a replacement in owners’ minds, at least not yet. Of course, those who can afford upgrading their smartphone every year will jump at the first invites, while others might try to sell their original OPO and wait a month or so to get the OnePlus 2, when invitations will be more common.

The OnePlus 2 price is not confirmed to the penny, but Peter Lau is convinced fans will be happy with the end result. For all we know, “less than $450” can mean a $300 price tag, too, which would be the best possible price for such an awesome flagship. We know it’s awesome because OP is hyping about it and has already confirmed bits and pieces of its specs.

OnePlus 2 features will include a fingerprint sensor, a Snapdragon 810 CPU, USB Type C and a VR launch event which you can read about here. There’s an announcement coming today from the OnePlus team about the OnePlus 2, and we’re going to update this post when that goes live! Stay tuned, we will be all over the OnePlus 2 release and features, as often as we can!
