Warner Bros has released the details of Batman: Arkham Knight’s season pass. The season pass was announced a few days ago, and with a hefty $39.99 price tag fans were left eagerly anticipating the details. The season pass will include plenty of downloadable content such as character skins and new maps, but what has people most excited about Arkham Knight is that Warner Bros is for the first time bringing in Batgirl as a playable character. She’ll be included in a prequel story, while a variety of other characters will be playable in their own story missions.
“While the story of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Trilogy will come to a close on June 23rd, we are excited to continue telling stories and delivering more content to explore and play through in the 6 months following the game’s release,” Warner Bros said over on its Facebook page. Although they aren’t ready to divulge all of what’s included in the season pass just yet, they’ve outlined quite a few details which they hope will give us “a better sense of the scope of the Season Pass.”
Batgirl: A Matter of Family
This is the prequel story where we get to play as Batgirl. It’ll be set in an entirely new location, but for now all Warner Bros are giving us is their first render of Batgirl.
The Season of Infamy
This is a pack of new story missions in which “legendary” super-villains invade Gotham. Playing as Batman, we’ll see new story arcs, missions, and even gameplay features.
Gotham City Stories
In these missions, we will apparently play as “Batman’s key allies.” It’s not clear just yet which characters this will involve, but the missions will extend each character’s storyline from before and after the events of the main game.
Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks
In addition to the new missions and stories, we’ll also be getting a variety of Batmobiles from throughout the franchise’s 75-year history. Each Batmobile will come with a themed track made to suit its specific era, though each Batmobile will be drivable on each track.
Crimefighter Challenge Maps
There’s not a lot of information on this one, other than that each map will involve a new challenge which will utilize “the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.”
The pass will also include skins “from across the eras” for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.
Warner Bros have promised to share more details in future monthly announcements, which they’re calling “content drops.”
