The announcement of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has definitely been one of the more welcome surprises of this year’s E3. Fans of the series have been asking for a remake of the seventh main entry of the successful role-playing game series by Square Enix for years and the Japanese company has finally listened. The game is still quite far from release and details on its gameplay mechanics are practically non-existent. Being a remake, we should expect things to be different from the original, but we have yet to learn how different.
Some new details on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake battle system have surfaced thanks to a new interview with Tetsuya Nomura published on the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK. According to Mr. Nomura Final Fantasy 7 Remake combat system will feature some dramatic changes but at the same time it will still be recognizable.
“We are bringing dramatic changes to the Final Fantasy VII Remake so we’re hoping that you’ll look forward to additional information that we’ll be able to release when the time comes. And of course, that being said we want to clarify: we’re not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that. We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it’s still recognizable.”
Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been announced during the E3 2015 and it’s currently in development for PlayStation 4. The game will be directed by Tetsuya Nomura, with Yoshinori Kitase and Kazushige Nojima also being back to work on the game. As stated above, not much is currently known about the game but Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that it won’t be a simple remake, as scenario writer Kazushige Nojima is working on new story content.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released on a yet to be confirmed date on PlayStation 4. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it so stay tuned for all the latest news.
