After 10,000 years, players are finally free to conquer Earth…er I mean the world of Minecraft. With Power Ranger skins. Yes, that’s what I said.
Mojang just released a slew of new Power Rangers-themed skins to celebrate the surprisingly enjoyable Power Rangers movie. Each of the original six rangers (both the Green and White Ranger are the same person so they technically only count as one ranger) is represented in Minecraft’s glorious blocky and pixelated aesthetic, as are allies Alpha 5 and Ninjor. Main villains Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, Scorpina, Goldar, Rito Revolto, and the ever-punchable Putty Patrollers also receive skins, as do resident “bullies” Bulk and Skull and even the friggin’ Megazord.
Not only is this skin pack timely and topical, it was a labor of love for Mike Fielder, one of the artists who worked on the skin pack. According to Fielder,
“As a teen I remember getting out of school, grabbing a snack and settling into the cartoon line-up,” explains Fielder. “Part of that routine was watching Power Rangers. When I found out we would be working on a Minecraft version of some of the character line-up I was pretty excited and even more so when I found out Bulk and Skull would be included since they were my favorite characters. I had a blast creating Minecraft versions of these characters. I hope everyone who uses these skins has as much fun playing them as I did creating them.”
The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers skin pack is available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Pocket, and PC versions of Minecraft
