A lot of players in the current gaming world hunt for achievements in videogames. From some of the most grueling endurance rounds to finding extremely well hidden easter eggs. The tradition of achievement hunting has gone to a very popular level and has been widely noticed by the people behind the curtain.
Now, the players who dedicate their time to completing games will be rewarded for their efforts. At least that will be the case for people with a PlayStation 4 in hand. After a recent update to Sony’s reward program, known as Sony Rewards, you can now earn credit towards game purchases depending on how many PlayStation trophies you have.
If you’re a member of the program, the points you accumulate can go towards games or can be converted into PSN currency. The kind of trophies and how many you have in your collection all contribute to how many points you’ll acquire.
So, what are going to be the values of the trophies themselves? Well, it’s a rather complex system determined by the kind of trophies you get. So, let’s go over these one by one.
- 100 Silver Trophies -> 100 Points
- 25 Gold Trophies -> 250 Points
- 10 Platinum Trophies -> 1000 Points
Bronze Trophies are sadly out of consideration, it’s not that strange considering they are easy to gather. However, a lot of players might get interested in running for a lot of Platinum Trophies because 1000 points is worth around $10 USD in the PSN Store.
Some restrictions apply as well, unfortunately enough. Previous trophies earned before joining Sony Rewards do not count towards earning points, and this offer is only available in the United States.
However, considering that this is just a section from the Rewards Program, it’s not strange to see Sony considering expanding the offer to other players soon. Let’s hope for the best in this regard for the elite players who show their prowess.
