Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is already a very psychologically-intense game, but now that will be intensified with the new version of the game. Developer Ninja Theory has announced that the game will be getting a VR Edition for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and will come to both platforms on July 31st.
The good news is that anyone who already owns the game on PC (via Steam) will be able to get the game for free. Otherwise you’ll have to fork over the standard $29.99 price. The following is an overview of the game from the Steam page:
“From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness.
Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.
Created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will pull you deep into Senua’s mind.”
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice launched for PlayStation 4 and PC last year, before coming to Xbox One earlier this year. The game received very positive reviews, with the story in particular getting high praise.
