PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers will finally be able to check out Kingdom Hearts 3 later this month, with the RPG set to launch for both platforms. While those are the only two confirmed platforms, what are the odds that the game might release on PC? Despite not ever being confirmed, a PC version of the game hasn’t been ruled out completely.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura has spoken in the past about the potential of a Switch version, though he also said that that may not be the only platform that they are considering. He said the following:
“Other hardware is not limited to the Nintendo Switch, and we will consider all of them after the release of the PS4 and Xbox One versions.”
While the potential of these games coming to the PC in the past were low, it isn’t as far-fetched of a proposition as it once was. Final Fantasy 15 did end up getting a PC port after the console released via the Windows Edition, so it’s entirely possible that something similar could happen for Kingdom Hearts 3. Considering the large player base that the PC has, it’s definitely something that Square Enix should try to get in on.
Kingdom Hearts 3 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th. It will be the last game in the series to star protagonist Sora, with subsequent games taking a different route. There’s been no news on what what directions they might take things, though more information on that will likely materialize once this game has been out for a while.
