The most popular PS5 and PS4 titles downloaded from the PS Store overall in 2022 have been made public by Sony. The ensuing rankings, which feature the majority of the year’s big names near the top, are about as predictable as you’d expect, we won’t lie to you. Anyway, let’s have a look, shall we?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23 were the PS5 games that were downloaded the most in North America and Europe, respectively, in 2022. Surprise! Never fear if you’re wondering where God of War Ragnarok stands; on the NA and EU charts for the PS5, the game is ranked second and third, respectively. Elden Ring (fourth in both territories), Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, and Grand Theft Auto V are other PS5 games competing for a spot in the top 10.
Similar trends can be seen on PS4, albeit Sony exclusives are significantly less popular. Yes, GTA 5 is ranked number one, below Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23, with other well-known games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Minecraft ranking higher than more recent games. It implies that even though many of Sony’s first-party titles are cross-gen, the PS5 is where most people are purchasing them.
The top PSVR games of 2022 don’t provide many surprises, once again. The top three games in both areas are SUPERHOT VR, Beat Saber, and Job Simulator. Fall Guys is the joint top free-to-play game on PS5 and PS4, followed by Fortnite, Warzone 2.0, MultiVersus, and Overwatch 2.
All of these charts are available on the PS Blog. Which PS Store games did you download most frequently last year?
