The Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key has been postponed despite its strange moniker. The endearing JRPG will now shake things up on March 24th instead of its original February release date.
In a statement explaining the delay, the game’s producer Junzo Hosoi said, “Our team will take this additional time to fine-tune the final touches so that we can deliver to all of you who have been following the series for the best possible experience in this culmination of Ryza and her friends’ adventures.”
For a modest JRPG franchise, the Atelier Ryza series has sold a commendable 1.3 million copies to date. The Ryza series of games, a subsection of the wider Atelier series, follow the titular alchemist on her various voyages.
The Atelier Ryza series, which starts with Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and continues in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, is lighter in tone than typical JRPG fare, but it still has fairly straightforward combat mechanics and an incredibly compelling alchemy mechanic that lets you create a wide variety of items.
