Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is developing into an excellent Soulslike. The Nioh franchise allowed developer Team Ninja to get a lot of experience in cruel game design, so they are no strangers to the genre at this point. The above trailer, made possible by IGN’s First program, has 17 minutes of brand-new, expert gaming as evidence of their skill.
Wo Long shows a Han-era China that is overrun with demons, in contrast to Nioh, which took place in a fanciful depiction of feudal Japan. There are probably some recognizable names here that fans of the Dynasty Warriors series will recognize, some of which are more welcoming than others. The stage’s last boss battle is with Lu Bu, who is equally terrifying here as he is in every other Romance of the Three Kingdoms-related media. It’s quite fantastic that he even mounts Red Hare to begin the battle.
Check out this epic story trailer to set the scene, or this other boss fight, which features the terrifying Aoye, if you are finding it difficult to wait for Wo Long’s release (available on March 3 for PS5 and PS4). Are you eagerly anticipating Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s release?
