Fanatical Unitoligists and other fans are undoubtedly itching to start amputating limbs in anticipation of the upcoming remake of the very good Dead Space, which is set to open later this week on January 27. The good news is that we now know when to start pre-loading this graphic powerhouse, so you can start getting ready for convergence on January 25 at 8 am PDT/4 pm GMT.

Additionally, a somewhat unexpected addition—the possibility of an alternative ending—has been made clear by the recently released Trophy list. We won’t give away the original game’s ending here (except to say that it should be against the law to end a game with a jump scare), but it is fascinating nonetheless. Could there be a deviation from the norm and a revitalized remake trilogy that retcons out the abomination that is Dead Space 3? Probably not, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
