According to CD Projekt Red, the creator of Cyberpunk 2077, the next paid DLC Phantom Liberty will have the “largest budget” the business has ever allocated to an expansion.
That is what wccftech claims after receiving it from the Polish retailer Parkiet. Importantly, CDPR refers to the amount of money spent rather than the breadth of the material. It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that this endeavor would end up costing a significant penny given that Phantom Liberty will be paying Idris Elba’s salary in addition to recasting Keanu Reeves.
With a 20+ hour storyline, the picturesque area of Toussaint and all of its accompanying quests and encounters, not to mention the Mutation system, which significantly improved the game’s core combat mechanics, Blood & Wine from The Witcher 3 is probably the previous record holder for budget allowance.
The worldwide PR director of CDPR, Radek Grabowski, reiterated on Reddit and Twitter that “largest” denotes budget, not scope, which isn’t always the same thing, however, and was quick to quell fan excitement about the scale of the content. For very obvious reasons, we would expect the Polish corporation is extremely cautious about overhyping anything relating to Cyberpunk 2077.
In terms of a release window, we don’t have anything more definite than “2023,” but consider us intrigued. After all, everyone enjoys a good tale of redemption. Are you anticipating Phantom Liberty’s large bounce budget?
