Anyone with the new Nintendo Switch console can download the demo on the Nintendo eShop. It is listed as Splatoon 2 Global Testfire. At the moment, the game cannot be played, so if you launch the game and attempt to play you will be met with an error code and an error message telling you the service is unavailable.
The game play has been revamped since the first one. Two years have passed in real life, and in the game. Due to this passage of time one can expect new fashion, weapons, and gear. The developers have added dual-wielding splat duelies, and have even changed the old splat roller and splat charger by giving them new mechanics and weapons. You can also expect the classic Turf War 4vs 4 game mode to stick around for this highly anticipated sequel. There is a definite emphasis on revamping the original Splatoon, but keeping the classic game play fans love.
With the new platform comes new ways to play the game. The Joy-Con controllers and the Pro Controller have gyro controls which allow for better precision when aiming. Some Switch games won’t work in handheld or table top modes, but Splatoon 2 isn’t one of them. As such, players can feel free to play it on their TV or take it off the dock and play Splatoon 2 in handheld mode. Furthermore, the voice chat will also be done in a unique way. Players will use a smart device for in game voice chat. As always, Nintendo is providing a novel gaming experience.
