Horrible play on words aside (no, really I understand I should be slapped), a new Pokemon Go in-game event is upon us. The Water Festival focuses on all things water-type Pokemon. Just in case you couldn’t guess.
Trainers will be more likely to come across the likes of Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile, and their evolutions wherever humans roam. To be more specific, people will have a greater chance of encountering water-type Pokemon discovered in the Johto region. Additionally, a new avatar wardrobe item, the Magikarp Hat, will be available.
The in-game event starts today at 1pm PST and lasts until March 29th, 1pm PST. Meaning you got a small window of time to prepare. You want to be the very best right? Those who do never miss a minute of a Pokemon event like Water Festival.
Let’s hope the Magikarps appear in bunches because of Niantic’s great idea to need a lot of them in order to evolve a Gyarados. If you don’t know, you need four hundred candy in order to do that which roughly translates into a base 133 Magikarps caught. I’ve been lucky enough to capture ten. I don’t even want to imagine how much candy will be needed in order to attain a Mega Gyarados.
Hit us up in the comments below with your plans for this new Pokemon Go event. Will you take advantage of the upcoming week in order to acquire rare water Pokemon? (Looking at you Totodile.) Let us know in the comments below!
