UPDATE: Servers and online connectivity have returned! Back to gaming on the PlayStation Network.
The PlayStation Network has been in a up and down predicament ever since that notorious hack. You know the one I’m talking about. Plus, some reoccurring holiday outages as well. Sadly, we have to report that currently as of 3:20 pm on April 13th, 2017, the PSN is currently down. The affected platforms appear to be only the PS4 and PS Vita in the gaming and social aspects.
Here’s the quote currently presented on the official PlayStation Network Service Status page. “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”
So Sony and their PlayStation division are aware, but no timetable has been given for PlayStation Network’s return or the core reason. The outage is effecting at least North America and Europe at this time. Those looking to play the new PSVR game, Starblood Arena, will unfortunately have to wait.
We’ll keep you update when we hear more.
