Fans of Final Fantasy 16 disagree as new debate over the squeeze gap begins
Fans of Final Fantasy have been disputing for decades over a variety of topics, such as whether game VIII is the finest or which one contains the best minigames. But something fresh has the community in a tizzy, and this time it’s a 19-second trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI that’s energizing fans along with the reappearance of certain well-worn and recognizable talking points.

The latest trailer for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CGI film Resident Evil: Death Island, released July 25, features the outlandish action and melodrama that made the franchise a cult sensation.

Sony’s PS5 firmware update is everyone’s favorite news story. It’s been a while, but don’t get too excited—this is just a minor one. No biggie.
PS5 system software 23.01-07.40.00 does what? Latest firmware patch notes:
- System software performance and stability increased.
- We improved screen messaging and usability.
That’s it! Sony’s definition of “some screens” is unclear, but perhaps it improves communications. PS5 messages weren’t a problem, though. The update is barely over 1GB, so updating your console won’t take long.
