Control people via smartphone with the help of German technology

We all have a friend or two who claim to be able to control people by manipulating them with reverse psychology and other cheap tricks. While that’s all fine and dandy if you’re trying to win an argument when you’re clearly being wrong or if you’re trying to convince your love interest to go on a date with you, not everyone falls prey to these types of techniques, especially not strong-willed people. Luckily, there’s now a perfect solution for when this type of situation arises and it comes in the form of electrodes that you can strap on someone’s legs and then use a smartphone to control their movement. I know, I know, you won’t actually be able to have an impact on someone’s mind this way, but what I’m suggesting is the possibility to literally control people, so just hear me out.

A group of German scientists recently put their minds together to see if they could figure out a way of freeing people from the tyranny of modern technology (read: stop people from gazing obsessively at their phones even when walking down the street). The main goal isn’t necessarily to control people, but rather to steer them in the right direction when they’re too busy to do it themselves.

Imagine you’re walking down the street while staring at the all too important smartphone screen. Now imagine you’re heading straight for a tree or a pole but you don’t notice it and you’re just about to have a very bad day because of what’s about to happen next. However, an unfortunate accident can easily be avoided by having a German scientist remotely send a well-placed electrical impulse to your leg from his smartphone, thus forcing you to steer left or right. It’s worth mentioning that the scientist will get to choose in which direction you’ll have to steer. All you have to do is just keep moving forward and let your German scientist guardian angel take care of everything else.

According to the scientists, the technology used is actually very simple and consists of commonly found electrodes that must be attached to someone’s leg. The way you control people with it is by sending a signal from a smartphone that actives the electrodes, which in turn stimulates the muscle responsible for controlling the rotation of your leg. Not exactly futuristic tech, but certainly effective. The volunteers who participated in the experiment are saying that the electric impulse was akin to a slight tingling sensation. “One comment from the participants was they always had the feeling that they can just take back control and override the signal,” according to Max Pfeiffer from the University of Hannover, Germany. Thus far, the technology hasn’t been used for evil, but one can only imagine that a higher voltage could cause quite a bit of discomfort to the person wearing the electrodes.

As for practical applications of this technology (besides letting you control people with your smartphone of course), it could potentially prevent you from getting lost if used properly Perhaps someone could create a smartphone app that would automatically send impulses to your legs that would allow you to navigate an unfamiliar city. Sure, you can just check Google Maps right now, but that involves staring at your screen again and the scientists want to find an alternative for that. With the said app, you would still be guided by Google Maps, but you won’t have to look at the screen anymore because your legs will receive precise instructions for where to take you. Having said that, this technology should probably be further developed to help blind people since it seems like they would be able to make the best use of it.

In the fast-evolving landscape of online security and privacy, NordVPN has emerged as a leading player, boasting a reputation for robust security features, extensive server network, and user-friendly interface. As someone who values online privacy, I decided to put NordVPN to the test, exploring its performance, features, and overall user experience.

Server Network: Extensive and Diverse

One of NordVPN’s standout features is its expansive server network. With thousands of servers across numerous countries, it provides users with unparalleled options for secure connections. This extensive network not only ensures fast and reliable connections but also enables users to access geo-restricted content with ease.

During my testing, I was particularly impressed by the server distribution. Whether I needed a server for optimal speed, security, or access to specific content, NordVPN delivered. The Quick Connect feature intelligently selects the best server based on my location, ensuring optimal performance every time I connected.

Security and Privacy: Top-Notch Encryption and No-Logs Policy

NordVPN places a strong emphasis on user security and privacy, evident in its use of military-grade encryption and a strict no-logs policy. The AES-256 encryption, coupled with the OpenVPN and IKEv2/IPsec protocols, guarantees a secure tunnel for data transmission. This level of encryption is the industry standard for protecting sensitive information, making NordVPN a trustworthy choice for users concerned about their online privacy.

Equally important is NordVPN’s commitment to a strict no-logs policy. The company is based in Panama, a jurisdiction with no mandatory data retention laws. This means that NordVPN doesn’t store any user data, enhancing the overall privacy and anonymity of its users.

User-Friendly Interface: Intuitive and Accessible

NordVPN’s user interface is designed with simplicity and functionality in mind. The sleek, user-friendly app is easily navigable, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced users. The Quick Connect button allows for instant access to the best server, while the server map and search functionality provide additional flexibility for users who prefer a more hands-on approach.

Additionally, NordVPN’s support for various devices and operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, ensures a seamless and consistent experience across different platforms. I appreciated the effort NordVPN put into creating a unified user experience.

Performance: Impressive Speeds and Reliability

One of the concerns users often have about VPNs is the potential impact on internet speed. During my tests, NordVPN consistently delivered impressive speeds, allowing for smooth streaming, quick downloads, and lag-free browsing. The vast server network plays a crucial role in distributing the user load, ensuring that performance remains robust even during peak hours.

The specialty servers, such as Double VPN and Onion Over VPN, provide added layers of security for users with specific needs. While these servers may slightly reduce speed due to the additional encryption layers, the trade-off in security is well worth it for users prioritizing utmost privacy.

Customer Support: Responsive and Knowledgeable

In the world of VPNs, prompt and knowledgeable customer support is crucial. NordVPN excels in this area, offering 24/7 live chat support for quick resolutions to any issues users may encounter. The support agents I interacted with demonstrated a deep understanding of the product and were able to provide clear and concise solutions to my queries.

Conclusion: NordVPN Sets the Standard

After extensive testing, NordVPN has unquestionably earned its reputation as a top-tier VPN service. Its combination of robust security features, an extensive server network, user-friendly interface, and responsive customer support make it an excellent choice for both privacy-conscious users and those seeking unrestricted access to content worldwide. NordVPN sets the standard for what a premium VPN service should be, delivering a comprehensive and reliable solution for a safer and more private online experience.

Musk says Cybertruck won’t be profitable until 2025

Elon Musk warned Wednesday about the approaching Cybertruck, which may sound familiar to those who followed the Model 3 “production hell” era.

The summary? Scaling Cybertruck production is difficult and will take time to be profitable. Musk estimated that the Cybertruck will not be cash flow positive for 18 months. Musk predicted Tesla will produce “roughly” 250,000 Cybertrucks a year by 2025 after overcoming these production issues.

Cybertruck pilot production has begun at the company’s Giga Texas factory near Austin. Wednesday, Musk said the first Cybertrucks will be delivered at a factory event on November 30.

He also said the 2019 Cybertruck has over 1 million refundable reservations.

“I do want to emphasize that there will be enormous challenges in reaching volume production with the Cybertruck and then making the Cybertruck cashflow positive — this is this is simply normal,” Musk said on Wednesday’s third-quarter earnings call, adding that he thinks this could be the company’s best product. When you have a product with a lot of new technology or a brand new vehicle program, especially one as different and advanced as the Cybertruck, you will have problems proportional to how many new things you’re trying to solve at scale.

He added, “It is going to require immense work to reach volume production, be cashflow positive, at a price that people can afford.”

Tesla’s earnings were hurt by the Cybertruck. The company reported Wednesday net income of $1.85 billion in the third quarter, down 44% from the same year-ago period due to shrinking margins from repeated EV price cuts and increased operating expenses on Cybertruck, AI, and other R&D programs. Tesla spent $2.4 billion in the third quarter, up 43% from last year.

Tesla faces Cybertruck profitability delays.

The company spends more on footprint, people, and programs like Cybertruck. Despite being North America’s largest EV seller, the company’s price cuts have cut its margins. Tesla and other automakers may have to keep lowering prices due to softening EV demand, according to industry watchers.

There are no new Tesla models expected soon, which could lower profits.

While its free cash flow fell to $848 million in the third quarter, Tesla has $26 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and investments, giving it room to maneuver. Whether shareholders will wait is unknown.
