Recent system software updates from Sony for the PS5 include numerous enhancements, including support for audio calls using Discord. Since then, a smaller update has been made available (complete with everyone’s favorite patch notice), and the platform owner has recently released a new upgrade. What’s the deal with this one, then? The 834MB patch (number 23.01-07.01.01, if you’re interested) lacks patch notes on the system; however, we have learned what this update addresses via the PlayStation website. It turns out that the issue affecting the game library is a small bug fix: “In the game library, a problem was fixed where certain circumstances caused items to appear erroneously.” That’s all, then! anything but the typical “improves system software performance.” So, it’s a very minor update, but it’s still important to download and install to be secure. It is currently accessible. Have you had any issues with the PS5’s game library?

The latest trailer for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CGI film Resident Evil: Death Island, released July 25, features the outlandish action and melodrama that made the franchise a cult sensation.

The T-Virus and killer whales take the gang to Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay, where a new nightmare awaits. In magnificent slow motion and with progressively heavier ordinance, the Dream Team will supposedly destroy zombies, Lickers, mutant orcas, and anything else foolish or nasty enough to stand in their path.

Sony’s PS5 firmware update is everyone’s favorite news story. It’s been a while, but don’t get too excited—this is just a minor one. No biggie.

PS5 system software 23.01-07.40.00 does what? Latest firmware patch notes:

  • System software performance and stability increased.
  • We improved screen messaging and usability.

That’s it! Sony’s definition of “some screens” is unclear, but perhaps it improves communications. PS5 messages weren’t a problem, though. The update is barely over 1GB, so updating your console won’t take long.

Excited for this PS5 update?

Want more classic Metal Gear Solid remakes on PS5? You’ll need to speak Konami’s language—dollar bills—to express your desire.

“Regarding remakes of previous games in the series other than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, we will listen to player demand and consider accordingly,” a Konami official told IGN.

Konami explained that “we chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of Big Boss (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series.” Fans wishing it would last forever contributed.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, yes? Maybe you’ll buy another disc to show Konami you’ll pay again?
