In the past few months SEGA has been releasing several of its classic games on the Nintendo 3DS shop with 3D support. Among the games released in the 3D Classics line are some great titles such as Altered Beast, Ecco the Dolphin, Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, Streets of Rage and its sequel and others. Another classic SEGA game is going to become available in Europe later this week.
In a new press release, Nintendo has confirmed that 3D Gunstar Heroes will be released later this week on the European 3DS eShop. Just like for the other games of the 3D Classics line, the new version of Gunstar Heroes will include 3D support and a few other extra features.
Gunstar Heroes is one of the best games released on SEGA Genesis years ago. The game has been developed by Treasure and it’s a run-and-gun game where players will have to go through a variety of stages and defeat countless enemies. Even though there are other games that play not all differently from Gunstar Heroes, the game developed by Treasure has managed to stand out from the competition thanks to some unique gameplay features such as the ability to engage enemies in close quarters combat and perform a variety of different attacks such as grabs, sliding attacks and more. The four main weapons of the game can also be combined together to create 10 additional weapons, bringing the total to 14 weapons.
3D Gunstar Heroes will be released later this week on the European 3DS eShop for the price of €4.99 / £4.49. The game is still today one of the best of the genre so make sure to check it out if you have never had the chance to play this classic gem. A North American release date has yet to be confirmed but we will let you know more as soon as possible.
