Read Dead Redemption 2 is set to be the next big open world title from the masters of sandbox mayhem, Rockstar Games. All we have gotten in terms of information on the game thus far is from the teaser trailer released last year. Well now, thanks to Polish online retailer Media Markt, we may have a possible release date. Media Markt listed the release date to be October 3rd which caught the attention of Polish website CD-Action. CD-Action then sought out confirmation with the retailer and was told that Red Dead Redemption 2’s distributor had given the date to them.
It did not take long after that for Media Markt’s PR to contact CD-Action to say there had been a mistake and the person who contacted them before was also mistaken. The website was then changed to show Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date to be December 31, its placeholder date.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games, which is understandable given the developer’s universal success with games like the first Red Dead Redemption and the Grand Theft Auto series. The original RDR was exclusive to consoles – in particular, Xbox 360 and PS3. It was announced last year that RDR2 will be on PS4 and Xbox One so it seems to be boycotting the PC as far as we know. This is an all too familiar sight for PC players, as the first game also did not make its way over and many fans are still hoping for a desktop release all these years later. There is already a petition for Red Dead Redemption 2 to release on PC. GTA V got a late release on PC so let’s hope that Red Dead 2 will get a similar treatment.
Do you think this release date is likely to be the real thing? Or do you think it was simply just a mistake?

Life DLC High on Knife hits PlayStation 3 on October 3

High on Life gets its first major paid DLC next week. From October 3, you can experience High on Knife. The offering was announced by a strange claymation trailer, and while you can still expect a silly experience, the developers wanted to make it spooky.
Announcing the DLC, Squanch Games CEO Mike Fridley said: “High On Knife is still hilarious and weird, but we’re getting spooky. Maybe not ‘I may never sleep again’ terror, but ‘my dreams are going to be broken for a while’. Imagine body horror, but your horrible body gets worse. We need your trust for now.”
Consider our curiosity piqued. Would you have bought High on Life for PlayStation or played it before? Any thoughts on High on Knife? Are you considering another serving?

PlayStation Delete Account Search Traffic Soars After Security Breach

After an alleged data breach this week, Google Trends registered a 277% increase in “delete PlayStation account” searches. Ransomware group claimed to have “successfully compromised all of Sony’s systems” and sold stolen data. The Japanese giant says it’s investigating.
Despite no leak confirmation, search data suggests many gamers are eager to close their accounts in the aftermath. A 277% increase in search traffic is alarming, but we don’t know how many queries it represents.
Sony was hit hard over a decade ago when a PSN data breach took down its online network. This led the company to offer free security and several games as compensation. Naturally, it increased behind-the-scenes security.
