Even though we haven’t seen a new entry of the Mega Man series in quite some time, fans of the series developed by Capcom have still been able to enjoy the classic entries of the franchise on modern hardware in recent times. Several entries of the Mega Man series have been released on the Wii u eShop in the past few months and another one will be released later this week in Europe.

Nintendo has confirmed with a new press release this morning that Mega Man & Bass will be released on the European Wii U eShop later this week. The classic GameBoy Advance game will be available for purchase for €6.99 / £6.29.

Mega Man & Bass, known in Japan as Rockman & Forte, has been originally released back in 1998 on Nintendo SNES before getting ported a few years later on GameBoy Advance. While the original SNES release was never localized, the Gameboy Advance version was released in North America and Europe sometime after the Japanese launch.

Mega Man & Bass features two playable characters, series protagonist Mega Man and his rival Bass who was introduced in previous entries of the series. The game’s story will change depending on the chosen playable character so players will have to complete the game with both characters to see everything it has to offer.

Gameplay wise Mega Man & Bass doesn’t play all that differently from previous Mega Man games, as players will have to explore a variety of stages, defeat enemies and a final boss. The game differs slightly from previous entries in the stage structure and in the different abilities for the two playable characters, as Mega Man can charge his Buster and call his dog Rush while Bass can shoot in eight directions and combine with the wolf Treble to fly temporarily.

Mega Man & Bass will be released in Europe this week on the Wii U eShop. The game is also available for purchase right now on the North American Wii U eShop.
