Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct brought some interesting details on many upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles. Among the games finally receiving a release date for North America is Fire Emblem Fates, the latest entry of the Fire Emblem series released in Japan as Fire Emblem If. Nintendo confirmed again yesterday that Fire Emblem Fates will be released as two different versions, with a Special Edition of the game including both versions as well as the third story path called Revelation, also becoming available on the same day.
If you’re thinking about getting Fire Emblem Fates and want to pre-order it as soon as possible you will be happy to know that both regular editions of the game, Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest and Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, as well as the Special Edition are now available for pre-order on GameStop. All three versions of the game will be released in North America on February 19th 2016.
UPDATE: The Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition is now sold out online on GameStop but it’s apparently possible to still pre-order it in stores, according to online reports.
Not counting the Revelations story path, Fire Emblem Fates has also received plenty of DLC content in Japan following its release. Among the released DLC maps for the game are maps that have been taken from previous entries of the series. One of these maps, called The Witch’s Trial, is especially interesting as it awards upon completion a special seal that can be used to turn female units into the Witch class. Nothing has been said about the release of the DLC content for Fire Emblem Fates in the West but more on the matter is surely going to come in in the future.
Fire Emblem Fates is now available in Japan. The game will be released on February 19th 2016 in North America and on a yet to be confirmed release date in Europe exclusively on Nintendo 3DS. More on the Western release of the game will be coming soon so stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming role playing game developed by Intelligent Systems.
