Sonic Forces has Performance Issues in PC Port

Performance

After a long wait, Sonic Forces has arrived and can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It’s a game, and a very disappointing one at that, but I’ll leave it at that, I’ll get my full thoughts across at a later time. However, even though my experience technically has been quite smooth, there has been some performance  issues happening on the PC version of the game.

Steam reviews for Sonic Team’s new platformer report that the game has been frequently crashing just a few missions in. Many of the negative reviews up until today have been addressing the issue with crashes. At the time of writing, the game has been sitting at “Mixed” general review scores.

“Forces, PC Players – we’ve just released an update that should fix most crashes,” Sega said. “Please restart your game to ensure it’s applied, and let us know if you run into any other issues!”

This update is supposedly going to be able to fix most of the performance problems in Sonic Forces. However, there are still negative reviews talking about the same performance issues. In other words, the update didn’t help anything at all for some of the users.

One of the “Solutions” proposed by some of the players is to play the game in Steam’s Offline Mode. Other users also have been having no issue playing the game in Big Picture Mode (I can attest to this).

SEGA continues trying to make a patch for the game that has been getting very expansive negative reviews. When I took the time to read the thoughts of the Positive users, most of them seem to be written very sloppily.

It certainly seems like the PC version of Sonic Forces is more of a mess than other ports. Could this be done in order to increase Console version sales?

The long-rumoured The Final Fantasy IX remake has regained its silence after being dosed with Echo Screen. This time, Giant Bomb Game Mess Mornings host and White Mage Jeff Grubb has reignited the unholy conflagration.

The NVIDIA leak, which revealed the fan-favorite remake, becomes more accurate every day. Grubb says he was reassured “very recently” that the remake is still happening. Expectations should be similar to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, not Remake.

The Final Fantasy IX remake excites you? What do you expect from it, and where do you think it will debut?
