It’s no secret at this point that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been a disaster, with the online components of the game being broken for years now. Well, 343 Industries seems to finally be ready to make some big changes to the game, and the first part of those changes are available to all MCC Insiders.
This is essentially a testing phase for the update, as it is still a work in progress and the developer will be utilizing fan feedback to improve upon it. They said the following on halowaypoint.com:
“Beginning today, we’re moving into PHASE TWO and access to the MCC Insider flight build is rolling out to ALL registered MCC Insiders! Everyone who is a confirmed, registered MCC Insider as of Monday, 7/30 at 12:00PM, will be included in this group.”
As for what will be tested during this phase, word has it that it will test the campaign (solo and co-op), custom games, the Forge and Theater.
Of course, you need to keep in mind that there will be bugs that people will encounter, as this is not a finished product. Things like glitches, freezing and crashing are all entirely possible, so fair warning.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available exclusively for Xbox One. It contains all of the Master Chief-focused entries in the series, along with Halo 3: ODST.
