Bungie Is Working on Several Unannounced Projects with Sony’s Support

PlayStation players have been asking why Sony paid $3.6 billion for Bungie back in January 2022. It was confirmed that Destiny will remain a multiplatform game and that the developer would not be restricted to PlayStation platforms almost immediately after the transaction had been finalized. In actuality, it was generally accepted that Bungie would continue to pursue its own interests.

Naturally, the situation’s actuality quickly became apparent: the studio would actually be assisting Sony in gaining ground in the live service market. Opinions on the Japanese giant’s new course have been divided, but the reality is that we haven’t seen any results yet because this is a long-term strategy.
Bungie has confirmed that it is still collaborating with Sony on “a number of unannounced projects.” Tom Farnsworth, the studio’s creative director, who provided the quote, has been bragging on social media about the studio’s successes.

Now tell us about these projects. We are aware that Bungie is working on a new IP that is unrelated to Destiny and has been in development for some time. In addition, it is said that the developer is working with other Sony-owned studios to support initiatives targeted at the live service model. It’s important to keep in mind that Bungie now employs over 900 people, making it a sizable studio.

Even though, once again, this does seem like a long-term vision, we’ll probably learn a little more about these initiatives around 2023. What more projects do you want to see from Bungie?

Diablo 4’s post-launch support will keep you playing for years, according to Blizzard. General manager Rod Fergusson confirmed two expansions and free content updates.

“As I sit here, we’re about to launch the main game; we’re finishing up season one; we’re working on season two; we’re working on expansion one; we’re kicking off expansion two,” he told PC Gamer on the Kinda Funny Xcast. These two DLCs may release sooner than expected. Fergusson says the live service model lets Blizzard release content faster than Diablo III.

With tens of hours of content in the base game, Diablo 4 is massive. This could be Destiny 2 or Genshin Impact, with seasons and DLC. That thought excites or frightens you. Leave a comment and check out our Diablo 4 guide for help with the PS5 and PS4 games.
