It appears that AMD is gearing up for a new graphics card series, as a new lineup of AMD Radeon RX 500X series graphics cards has appeared on the their official website. We’ve gotten very little information from the company directly regarding the state of this series, but it is high time that it gets updated.
The company actually mentioned last year that a graphics refresh would be coming at some point in 2018, though little else was detailed other than it being based on Globalfoundries’ 12nm Leading Performance manufacturing process technology. Fans became more disheartened when the company completely failed to mention the 12nm refresh during their latest roadmap at the beginning of this year.
It was a result of this that led many to think that the company just decided to cancel the project entirely, and that could still be the case. However, it seems like the company is trying to be a little more secretive here, perhaps setting everyone up for a surprise in the near future. AMD most recently released its Vega hardware last year, so it stands to reason that they will be following it up with something soon.
More information on this will likely be coming very soon, and we’ll be sure to bring you all the details as soon as they become available.
