Everybody heard about Metallica, there is no question in that. Some of us grew with their music and of course we got excited when we heard that Metallica is making ‘Death Magnetic’ after their huge success with ‘St Anger’. Now Kirk Hammett made fans and myself excited about the new album that will probably come out at the end of 2016 or in the worst case scenario in 2017. The date is not exact but it is something to keep our metal blood flowing.
In an interview with The Edge WEDG-FM, Kirk said that the new album has the same lines as ‘Death Magnetic’ which means that it will go in the same direction but it is not something definitive, he only stated “we’ll see”. A lot of hate came out of their latest album Death Magnetic by people who just want the same sound over and over again, those are usually the people who live in the past. Metallica doesn’t need to live in the past, they are after all METALLICA.
Moving forward Kirk Hammett said that if Keith Richards and Mick Jagger can do it why can’t they. It’s a fair statement, after all, nobody should quit playing music just because of old age as long as their music has the potential to save someone’s life.
“We’re all getting up there, but we still have driven, we still have energy, we’re still inspired, we still have things that we wanna do. You know, mentally, emotionally… I mean, I think that we’re not done yet. And if people like Keith Richards and Mick Jagger can do it into their seventies, why can’t we?”
