Update: There is now a way of getting the Elephone P8000 cheaper if you’re willing to jump a couple of hoops. If you manage to get your hands on an ELE code you can get a $40 discount on this phone or coupons for other Elephone products. You will need to use the ELE code on the official website here. For a more detailed description of how the process works check out the picture at the end of this article. Also, check on GearBest often because they will have new codes everyday that you can use.
Interested in a new cheap and powerful smartphone that comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out of the box? If the answer to that question is yes, you might want to check out the Elephone P8000, an upcoming phablet that’s pretty much guaranteed to suit all of your needs. Now, the device is technically not available anywhere just yet, but it will make its way to the stores in the near future and it will cost you a relatively low amount of cash to get it. However, if you want to reserve your Elephone P8000 beforehand, you’re in luck because GearBest is hosting a pre-sale that will allow you to purchase it for just $210. Pretty cheap, right?
Well, it only gets better once you see what the Elephone P8000 comes equipped with. First off though, let’s talk a bit about design since that’s just as important as the hardware for some. The front of the device was clearly built to have more of a utilitarian purpose as it doesn’t offer any spectacular features, however, it’s not ugly either. The front of the Elephone P8000 looks pretty standard for a phablet of this class, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since the huge display makes up a large portion of it anyway and at the end of the day, that’s what you’ll be looking at. On the back, however, we find a very interesting pattern design that may or may not be reserved exclusively to the black version of the Elephone P8000 judging by the images. The white and champagne models seem to feature simple back covers with no distinguishing features so make sure to grab the black one if you want something a bit more special.
Moving on to the under the hood specifications, we’re looking at some very powerful hardware that’s tucked nicely underneath the 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The Elephone P8000 also includes a 64-bit MTK6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz, coupled with a Mali-T760 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. For the price of $210 you’ll also get a 13 MP primary camera on the back, a 5 MP selfie shooter on the front, a sizeable 4,000 mAh battery pack, 16 GB worth of expandable storage memory (up to 64 GB), a fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM capabilities and more! All in all, the Elephone P8000 offers really great bang for the buck and would make a nice addition to any tech lover’s pocket.
As mentioned before, you can also expect to get Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out of the box. This is yet another feature that’s worth taking into account as all the previous versions come with their fair shares of bugs on many devices. As far as we can tell, Android 5.1 seems to be the first completely stable version yet, although not many users have it at the moment so we’ll have to wait for some more reports before we’ll be able to say for certain.
