The Evil Within is a truly scary survival horror game. In a world where classic horror series such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill are no longer as scary as they once were, the game developed by Tango Gameworks and directed by Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series, was definitely what fans of the genre needed desperately.
As if the main campaign wasn’t filled with horrors enough, The Evil Within has received a DLC pack last month. The Assignment pack stars Julie Kidman and further expands the gameplay experience of the game with new enemies and locations, focusing on the unsolved mystery of the main campaign.
Starting today, fans of the game will be able to continue feeling that horrible sense of dread that permeates The Evil Within with a new DLC pack called The Consequence. Just like the already mentioned Assignment pack, this new one will include new enemies and locations and solve even more mysteries. The pack can be purchased and downloaded from Steam and Xbox Live right now and it will become available on PSN for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 later today.
The Consequence won’t be the last DLC pack for The Evil Within. The third and, sadly, final DLC pack called The Keeper will be released on a yet to be confirmed date and will allow players to control the fearsome Keeper and complete a series of mission based levels with sadistic objectives. After all the horrors players have gone through, this is going to be a really nice change of pace. Nice for the players, not for their poor victims.
The Evil Within is now available in all regions on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. The Consequence DLC pack is now available on Steam and Xbox Live, with the PSN release coming later today. European PlayStation players will be able to purchase the new DLC pack from tomorrow.
