Kingdom Hearts III, the latest main entry of the series currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, has been in development for quite some time but it looks like the game is still far from release. Back when Tetsuya Nomura was also directing Final Fantasy XV, it was revealed that the game would only be released after the latest entry of the Final Fantasy series has been made available.
Incredibly enough, it seems like a release date for Kingdom Hearts III has been decided. Director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed in a new interview with Dengeki PlayStation that the team has reached an agreement on the release date but he cannot say anything more at the moment. He also added that more information on the release date will be coming at the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event that will be held on November 3rd.
Nomura: We’ve reached an agreement, but I still can’t say anything. I plan to give new information at the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event that will be held on the 3rd of November.
Judging from what Mr. Nomura has said, it looks like the game may not be so far from release as speculated, something that should make fans of the series who have been waiting for years for the new game quite happy.
Last week some new details on the Kingdom Hearts III gameplay experience have emerged online thanks to Dengeki magazine. Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that the new game won’t feature reaction commands so to make everything more challenging., with all actions in the game being based on timing. Mr. Nomura has also confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III will feature plenty of mini-games and that development on them has already begun.
