Just Cause 3 now has its interactive E3 trailer publicly available on Youtube. Titled ‘Choose Your Own Chaos’, the Just Cause 3 interactive trailer is narrated by game director Roland Lesterlin and guides viewers through different methods of destroying various structures in the game. Avalanche Studios and Square Enix have also released a traditional trailer for those that just want to see six sweet minutes of destruction.
Footage for each of the Just Cause 3 trailers is taken from the Alpha version of the game, so while it’s not the final version, it’s pretty close to what we’ll see when it’s released in December. The interactive Choose Your Own Chaos trailer is actually an extended version of the trailer shown on the E3 floor.
The latest trailers show Rico exploring the open-world action of the island of Medici, running around destroying anything that belongs to the republic’s military dictator. The trailers show off Rico’s new and improved abilities, including flying with his new wingsuit, using his grappling hook like Spiderman, and parachuting out of the way of massive explosions. The options in the interactive trailer show Rico having the General’s statue smack itself in the face and turning an oil tank into a bowling ball that destroys a refinery.
“At E3, we wanted to show our fans a sneak peek into the sheer volume of creative choices they will have access to in the game,” Christofer Sundberg, Avalanche Studios co-founder and chief creative officer, said in a statement. “Today, we’re excited to share the fun with the rest of our Just Cause fans around the world.”
Avalanche Studios is really emphasising the creative elements of destruction in Just Cause 3. They’ve said that the game’s improved physics engine means no two explosions are the same and that there are endless ways for Rico to destroy things using his vast array of tools and weapons.
Just Cause 3 releases on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on December 1 2015.
