Fire Emblem Fates, the latest entry of the Fire Emblem series released in Japan as Fire Emblem If, comes with several features that have been introduced by the previous entries of the series, Fire Emblem Awakening. Some other features have been take from even older entries but have been tweaked so that they can feel fresh. Among these features are the Paralogues, which are optional story sequences involving specific characters.
Fire Emblem Fates features plenty of these Paralogues so players will be quite busy with the game if they don’t just stick to the main story chapters. Kantopia has started providing English story summaries for these Paralogues and you can find the summary for the second Paralogue by going here. You can also check out a video of the actual Paralogue by going here. As both summary and video include some heavy spoilers on one of the game’s mechanics, we suggest you avoiding checking them out if you want the game to be a complete surprise for you when it launches next year.
Like all recent Nintendo published games, Fire Emblem Fates comes with amiibo support. By using the Fire Emblem series figures of the Super Smash Bros line – Ike, Marth, Lucina and Robin – players can unlock some special event starring these characters. Translations for the four events have been provided earlier this month by Kantopia.
Fire Emblem Fates has already received a couple DLC packs in the past few weeks. Earlier last month the Fire Emblem Fates third story path called Invisible Kingdom has been made available on the Japanese eShop. Some DLC maps, including one featuring Fire Emblem Awakening characters, has also been released in Japan a few weeks ago.
Fire Emblem Fates is going to be released sometime next year in North America and Europe exclusively on Nintendo 3DS as two different versions, which include a different story path with different enemies, maps, characters and more. More on the Western version of the game will surely be coming soon so stay tuned for all the latest news on the new entry of the successful Fire Emblem series.
