Even though no new entries of the series have been released in recent times, Capcom has been making an excellent job in making the older entries of the Mega Man series available on modern consoles. Two months ago the Japanese publisher released Mega Man Battle Network 5 on the Japanese Wii U eShop and today Nintendo has confirmed that European players will be able to play the game in English very soon.
In a new press release, Nintendo has confirmed that Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Colonel and Team Protoman will be released on the European Wii U eShop later this week. The two games will be available for the price of €6.99 / £6.29 each.
Mega Man Battle Network 5, released in Japan as Rockman EXE 5, has been launched back in 2005 in North America and Europe. The game is the fifth entry of the Battle Network series and comes with many of the features that define the whole series such as the unique battle system and more. In the game players will control the young Lan Hikari as he tries to defeat the Nebula crime syndicate once again by controlling Mega Man inside the cyber network and fight a variety of enemies. The Mega Man Battle Network 5 battle system is not all that different from previous entries of the series, with players having to use chips which grant Mega Man a variety of abilities that can be unleashed in real time. The two version of Mega Man Battle Network 5 include the same content with a few differences such as which team Mega Man joins, the Lan’s rivals Chaud and Protoman.EXE team for Team Protoman or the Baryl and Colonel.EXE team for Team Coloner.
Mega Man Battle Network 5 is now available for purchase on the Japanese Wii U eShop and will soon launch on the European one.
