The PlayStation VR is quite a piece of tech and I’m enjoying it thoroughly. So anything that receives PSVR support is OK in my book. Race the Sun will be one such title next week.
Developer Flippfly announced their creation, Race the Sun, will be PSVR compatible come April 18th. All game modes will be able to utilize the virtual reality technology and is as simple to enable as selecting an option from the main menu. Additionally, a new mode called Sunrise will be introduced. Essentially this will be the “chill” mode. There’s no scores and no increasing difficulty. The whole point is to just relax.
New portal destinations will also be available. Instead of going to the Void when entering one, you’ll be randomly brought to five other possible destinations. Basically this means new maps that will change daily. Lastly, a first person mode will make an appearance. Simply pressing the square button will change the camera angle whether in the PSVR or standard view. Fair warning, it may take a few tries to get accustomed.
This will be yet another thing I have to make room for in my busy schedule. Luckily, I just platinumed the recently released VR game, Mortal Blitz, which leaves room for StarBlood Arena tomorrow. Race the Sun’s PlayStation VR experience should fit nicely between that and Outlast II later this month. Have you purchased Race the Sun yet? Do you plan on doing so for the virtual reality aspect?
