We could go back and forth on why No Man’s Sky was a disappointment or at the very least falsely advertised. Many popular features that were announced pre-launch were MIA come the time of release. Obviously, a coherent and meaningful story was one of them. Now you have to give credit to developer Hello Games as they’ve been pretty good about adding in new content and attempting to make No Man’s Sky what it should have been. Still the customizable building mechanics and new vehicles doesn’t constitute a plot. However, that may soon change.
No Man’s Sky received a “Special Report” earlier today and newspaper clippings can be found on Imgur. It mentions that the Galactic Empire of Hova declares war on the Bez-Harr Concern. Turns out this new faction to the Galactic Hub attacked a Hovan starship that patrolled around the BHC Outpost in the Zoliforwe Region. The event was dubbed the “Bez-Harr Incident.” The rest of the stories and articles detail what exactly has transpired in this conflict within the No Man’s Sky universe.
Needless to say, the print headlines bring more story to No Man’s Sky then anything ever has at this point. Multiple races are involved in a near war and by the looks of it, so will all the players. No word has been given on if this in-game development will constitute some form of campaign missions. It certainly would be a good segway into them if Hello Games decided to. You can view the newspaper entries below in their entirety. Yes, there is a George R.R. Martin easter egg.
What do you think these newspaper headlines mean? Do you think they’re just something for basic entertainment Hello Games whipped up? Or do you think this is the possible upcoming addition of actual story content for No Man’s Sky? Let us know in the comments below!
