The 2D sandbox game Terraria has been released a while back on PC, consoles and smartphones, managing to become incredibly popular on all formats, but it has yet to launch on Nintendo consoles. The 3DS version of Terraria has been showcased earlier this year at events such as Gamescom 2015 and the wait is almost over, at least for European fans of the game.
In a new press release, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed today that Terraria will be released later this week on the European 3DS eShop for the price of €19.99 / £16.99 in European territories. The game will come with all the features of the other versions of the game as well as some new ones which are specific to the 3DS version.
Terraria is one of the more interesting games released in recent years on all formats. The game is an open-ended sandbox game where players have the freedom to do pretty much anything, from building and crafting items, to exploring the game’s huge world and much more. The crafting system of the game is really interesting and enjoyable and so are the action gameplay features, as players will have to have to face and defeat a variety of enemies and powerful bosses. Defeating bosses is also needed to further explore the world, as taking down specific ones is required to open up new areas.
As mentioned above, the 3DS version of Terraria has been shown plenty of times during the course of 2015. A couple of gameplay videos have surfaced during Gamescom 2015, showing how Terraria runs on 3DS. Being a not terribly demanding game, Terraria will run quite nicely on the Nintendo portable console.
Terraria is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One and smart devices. The game will be released on Nintendo 3DS in Europe later this week.
