The long-running manga and anime series Dragon Ball is set to get another fighting game to be released soon. The game’s title is Dragon Ball Fighters and according to a leaked Bandai Namco press release from today, it will be coming out in early 2018 for current generation systems. The game will be taking a departure from the typical 3D perspective that has been seen in the Xenoverse games and in past titles.
The game will utilize a 2.5D orientation in its combat which is more along the lines of the old Dragon Ball titles and some of the newer Street Fighter games. The game will play differently from past games in the series because it is a 3-v-3 battle system, similar to the Marvel Versus Capcom franchise. There isn’t much information about the game now besides release window and developer.
The game will be developed by Arc System Works and published by the usual Bandai Namco. Arc System Works is known for their anime style fighting games of recent years like Blazblue and the Persona fighters. They also are developers of the Guilty Gear franchise that has been around for a while now. This will be their first home console Dragon Ball game as they have developed a few of the handheld titles for the franchise before.
Dragon Ball Fighters will release in Early 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
