TauCeti Unknown Origin

The teaser trailer for new sci-fi shooter/exploration game: TauCeti Unknown Origin comes courtesy of BadFly Interactive, developers of Dead Effect and Dead Effect 2.

Although the trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of information (as you’d expect with a teaser), it does showcase an exotic and colorful world ready for players to explore. Jumping from lush jungles to sprawling caves and temples from ancient civilizations, the world of TauCeti is beautiful but dangerous, filled with hostile aliens and what seems to be an eery looking bunch of tribal humans.

BadFly Interactive has described the game as an ‘action-packed co-op sci-fi FPS’, offering a class-based shooter experience mixed with RPG elements, which in this case means the usual abilities, gear sets, and upgradeable weapons.

Although the game is open world, the developers have also promised a strong narrative as you attempt to figure out the mystery of this completely undiscovered world.

Up to eight players can band together to take on both the PvE and PvP content available, with Solo, Group and Raid missions taking you around the strange alien world that you’ve crash landed on. BadFly has also mentioned the opportunity for crafting and base building as you scavenge pieces of your destroyed ship, ideal if you enjoy creating the perfect home away from home on a hostile planet.

TauCeti Unknown Origin is currently being developed for PS4 and Xbox One, although the developers are eager to bring the title to PC, mobile devices and perhaps most importantly, VR.

Badfly Interactive already have experience in virtual reality, with their last title Dead Effect 2 VR seemingly dropping out of nowhere to excellent user reviews on Steam. It’ll be interesting to see how their take on the exploration genre develops if it does indeed release in VR.

Diablo 4’s post-launch support will keep you playing for years, according to Blizzard. General manager Rod Fergusson confirmed two expansions and free content updates.

“As I sit here, we’re about to launch the main game; we’re finishing up season one; we’re working on season two; we’re working on expansion one; we’re kicking off expansion two,” he told PC Gamer on the Kinda Funny Xcast. These two DLCs may release sooner than expected. Fergusson says the live service model lets Blizzard release content faster than Diablo III.

With tens of hours of content in the base game, Diablo 4 is massive. This could be Destiny 2 or Genshin Impact, with seasons and DLC. That thought excites or frightens you. Leave a comment and check out our Diablo 4 guide for help with the PS5 and PS4 games.
