What’s wrong with Society? Part #1

What’s wrong with Society? Part #1
Matt Davis
September 12, 2015
*WARNING* Some people will view this as offensive, if you are sensitive in any way, do not bother to read this article. You have been warned!

Society

Definition – “The community of people living in a particular country or region and having shared customs, laws, and organizations.”

Synonyms – “population, civilization, the world at large, humankind, mankind, humanity.”

There you have it, what society actually means, is it really that simple? Of course it’s not, it’s more complicated because as you can see above, society actually stands for people and people nowadays don’t even live anymore. Yes, we are a bunch of zombies walking through the streets thinking “society today is wrong”. I’m thinking about it and you’re thinking about it, you might not be aware of it, you might not want to admit it or you’re part of that 1% of the world that controls this whole messed up society, we are wrong! Why is nobody talking about it? Sure, there are some people who are actually trying to make a difference but who is listening to them? You might say you are listening to them, but do you do something about it? No, you don’t, you agree with them and then go back to the life society wants you to have. When is the last time you did something you wanted? I’m not talking about that vacation you took with your family after working for years to raise some money to afford it. You can’t remember, do you? Face it, every since you started thinking consciously you either wanted things or money… to buy things.

Vaccines, parents and education

every-vaccination-is-a-little-victoryLet’s think about before you started having any thoughts whatsoever. Yes, I’m talking about when you were a baby. More women nowadays are more concerned about their career than they are about raising their kids right. Everybody complains about the new generation(heck, even I do that) and blames it on education, but I’m going to talk about that later. We are blaming kids for their behavior without looking at their parents. You might consider you are the greatest mom on earth just because you put aside your career for a few months to give birth to a healthy child and then you refuse vaccination. What is wrong with you? While you were searching how to feed your baby, you stumbled upon an article with the following title: “10 reasons why you shouldn’t vaccinate your baby”. Reasons like autism, poor health or accuses that pharmacists put chemicals and poison in vaccines. Do you actually know what a Vaccine means? I will provide you with the definition: “A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism, and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins or one of its surface proteins. The agent stimulates the body’s immune system to recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it, and “remember” it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these microorganisms that it later encounters.” The definition is clear enough, throughout the years, scientists made vaccines to train our immune-systems before we actually get ill. Disease like: measles, whooping cough and poliomyelitis were completely eradicated for a while until recently when mothers decided to listen to the internet instead of their doctors and the illnesses have resurfaced. Seriously? Is that what you want for your kid. And again, were you vaccinated? Are you healthy? oh, look you’re still walking and talking s**t. It’s like we are designed to make crippled babies. I understand we are over-populated but couldn’t we at least give them a chance? They are, after all our future!

1022lettersPARENT-superJumboHow come our parents let us play outside when we didn’t have cell phones? Weren’t they afraid we will get lost or become junkies? Didn’t the think of us getting into an accident or being kidnapped? They probably did think about all these things but at the same time they wanted us to be happy and make real life friends and just be normal kids. When we were little we didn’t appreciate stuff as much as play time. Nowadays parents buy stuff for their children to shut them up. The main reason why parents buy everything for their children is because they want to give them what they never had. Are you sure that is such a good idea? Not listening to your kid, giving him everything he wants makes him so selfish and self-absorbed that he doesn’t want to talk to you anymore and then you are wondering stuff like: “What have I done wrong?” “Why is she hiding things from me?” “When did he become a junkie?”. Your answer to the lack of communication you have with your children is to spy and control them. Who could blame you? Even manufacturers today make things with Parenting Control, phones can be tracked through GPS, heck, you are even searching online “How to hack my kids Facebook account”. Can’t you see that this s**t is only building up the wall you have between you and your child?

000tuitiotn“We don’t need no education” – Double negation.. does that say anything to you? To me, it does. I am not against education, I am just against our educational system. Do you even remember what you were taught in high-school? Or are you still working hard to pay of your debts from college? Maybe I cannot explain exactly why the education system fails us, but you can see it and you ignore it. I don’t have a solution that can revolutionize the educational system but maybe, if we would raise our children properly they would be curious and actually want to learn new things at school. I am not saying we should all grow up based on the same educational system because cultural difference will interfere, but at the same time they should find some balance between every country’s system. I don’t find it equal that in America, young adults are buried in debt because of college tuition and in some northern countries getting a college degree is free. Yes, education is free in countries like Finland for example but have you ever tried to get admitted there? Just for the sake of it on average, thousands of international applicants compete for 25-30 places yet who is actually admitted? Half of those international spots are magically occupied by Finnish people and the other half go to people from countries with affiliated universities. I don’t even want to start about the education in Asia, their culture is based on working and studying your whole life to make your country proud. In my opinion all the educational systems in the world are wrong, there is not even one remotely close to what society actually needs. Will our countries ever be able to work together, to create a reliable educational system? I lost all hope!

Maybe you were vaccinated and fortunate enough to be healthy, maybe you tried talking to your controlling parents and they gave you some space, you even might have studied during high school and finished a college of your choosing. You are living the dream! Or at least, you think you are. Independence sounds nice, but in reality you have no money, no job and society just messed you up. You’ll get a job you hate to get some money, to be able to live. Will you enjoy living? If making enough money to consume, to buy things, to raise a family, to go back to making more money to keep everything you built, is living… well then, congratulations, You Are Alive!

Who doesn’t enjoy listening to a good story. Personally I love reading about the people who inspire me and what it took for them to achieve their success. As I am a bit of a self confessed tech geek I think there is no better way to discover these stories than by reading every day some articles or the newspaper . My bookcases are filled with good tech biographies, they remind me that anyone can be a success. So even if you come from an underprivileged part of society or you aren’t the smartest person in the room we all have a chance to reach the top. The same message shines in my beliefs. All it takes to succeed is a good idea, a little risk and a lot of hard work and any geek can become a success. VENI VIDI VICI .
