Vodafone is one of the leading mobile telecommunications company measured in subscribers and 2013 revenues. In my opinion, it is the best mobile telecommunications company and now they are proving it more than ever.
The DreamLab app was recently launched by the Vodafone Foundation and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. The institutions made a three-year partnership to help cancer research in the fastest way possible, by allowing our smartphone’s processors to solve some small problems. You can download the Android app right now from the Play Store and Vodafone is also going to launch the app on iOS soon.
All you have to do is to fully charge your phone and install the app. After you’ve managed to install the application you will be able to choose what type of cancer research you want to help: pancreatic, prostate, breast and ovarian. After that, you will have to choose how much MB from your internet data can be spent on research per month. There are separate options for Mobile Data (50, 250 and 500MB) and Wi-Fi (250, 500 or 1GB), so the only thing that matters is with how much data you’ll be able to help with per month. Also, if you are on Vodafone Australia, it doesn’t matter how much Mobile Data you want to spend because it’s free.
I only feel bad because I didn’t hear about the desktop trial version they had, I wish I could’ve done more. At this moment, 10.688 people are helping speed up cancer research and with Vodafone’s help it has become 323 times faster. So if you are interested, download the app, fully charge your phone and don’t worry, this app won’t influence your phone in any way.
