Even if you’re on your phone or tablet, you are prone to jump from app to app always in need of returning, constantly trying to remember what you were doing at first. Multitasking became a habit and our devices need to keep up with it. No matter if we are searching for something, planning an event, sending emails or simply chatting with friends, we are prone to want to do all of this at the same time and an app that would let us do everything from within it, would be a life saver.
With its new updated Skype 6.6 for iPhone and iPad, the company intends to help us multitask more efficiently. The new iOS Skype app was developed to bring to your instant message a quick way to access the calendar, calls and maps. If you’ve just downloaded Skype on your iPhone or iPad or if you have already updated your Skype app to the latest version you’ll see that now the addresses, phone numbers, time and dates are highlighted.
By clicking on an address you’ll be directed to Apple Maps, by accessing a phone number the Skype dial pad will be at your reach and if you tap on a date or time, the calendar app will open so you can easily save an important date.
If you are thinking that by redirecting you from skype to other apps will make it harder for you to return to an active Skype call, the new updated Skype for iPhone and iPad will keep an active call banner that lets you go back to your call as quickly as you can tap. Also similar to the desktop app, now instant message conversations will appear as unread messages at the top of the conversation. Skype 6.6 is the update released for iPhones and iPad and makes multitasking a lot more entertaining.
