There are two major flagships everyone is waiting for this year. One of them is the Samsung Galaxy S8, which will launch at the end of this month, and the other is Apple’s iPhone 8. Naturally, we now know a lot about the upcoming Samsung flagship. Unfortunately, we don’t know that much about the next iPhone. However, based on the previous models and the company’s policy, we can guess some of the features of the upcoming Apple smartphone. One of these is the price tag, that can go as high as $1000 for this model.
The assumption is based on some of the new rumored features that were more or less confirmed by analysts and industry insiders. This year, we can expect a major change in the handset’s design. Even though Apple isn’t a big fan of changes, the iPhone 8 will most likely look a lot different from the iPhone 7. After all, it is Apple’s habit to come with major changes once in a few years. 2017 will be the year for the new design. This is why many Apple fans chose to sit the iPhone 7 out and wait for the next generation smartphone, with the new design. Some thought that the new model will have a curved display. Recently, these rumors have been discharged. Instead, it was said that the iPhone 8 will have 2.5D glass on the front. This could make the new handset similar to the iPhone 7. However, Apple has a lot of ways to deliver a truly innovative smartphone, with a brand new design.
The upcoming model will be the first to sport an AMOLED display. It will also be the largest one, with a 5.8-screen. Naturally, the OLED display will cost more, so the price of the smartphone will also be higher. The 2017 iPhone will also offer an improved 3D Touch feature. Of course, these improvements will contribute to the rise of the price tag as well. Last, but not least, the new smartphone will feature a revolutionary front camera. This will be able to create 3D selfies, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo. How these will actually look like is hard to tell. What we know is that the camera will incorporate a new 3D sensor that will turn the 2D images into 3D. We expect the results to be quite astonishing.
Even though all of these features are already amazing compared to the boring updates the iphone suffered in the past years, the good news don’t stop here. The new model will also ensure a longer battery life. This was definitely needed, so users will most likely welcome the change. The increased battery life will probably be one of the features for which iPhone users will opt for an upgrade. The new model is said to have an L-shaped battery. Basically, Apple played Tetris when designing the handset and managed to squeeze in a larger battery. The new model will have a 2,700mAh one, that will be able to ensure a better battery life than the 1960mAh battery of the iPhone 7. This might not seem to be quite an improvement to some. After all, the iphone 7 plus has a 2,900mAh battery. However, the new model will feature an AMOLED display that doesn’t consume as much energy as the LCD display of the previous models.
All these new features cost the company a lot of money. This is why the iPhone 8 will most likely cost at least $1000. Possibly even more. This might not be a problem after all. Analysts expect the upcoming Apple smartphone to record impressive sales. The new model could become quite popular all over the world. Apple has a lot of fans all across the globe, but those in Asia seem to be the ones most interested in major design changes and new technological features. It’s safe to assume that this market will be the one on which the majority of new iPhone models will be sold. One thing seems to be sure: Apple will sell a lot of iPhone 8 smartphones if they manage to deliver the flawless handset we are all expecting them to create. The new smartphone will most likely launch sometime in the third quarter of the year, possibly even towards the end of 2017. We just hope it will be worth waiting for it.
