Shenmue 3 Ryo Voice Actor

Shenmue 3 will see the return of Corey Marshall, the voice actor of Ryo for English versions of Shenmue 1 and 2. Marshall will reprise his role as Ryo for Shenmue 3, an announcement on the game’s Kickstarter page confirmed today.

“The support for Mr. Marshall to reprise his role as Ryo has been just overwhelming! We would all like to thank Corey-san for coming back, and especially for all the support he has given to Shenmue over the years,” the announcement said.

This will be great news for Shenmue fans. With Shenmue 3’s entire Kickstarter campaign basically built around fans’ nostalgia for the first two games, bringing back the original voice actor for Ryo, who is the main protagonist, is an obvious move.

The Kickstarter page also added an update on the pledge tiers. Particularly generous fans who donated $1000 or more will receive a personalised message from Corey Marshall, done in character.

It’s hard to know exactly what’s going on with Shenmue 3. It reached its Kickstarter goal of $2 million in less than a day and then people actually stopped to think. It became clear that the amount being asked for was nowhere near enough to create a game of this scope. People started asking questions about where the Kickstarter money was going. Over the next few days, fans received clarification about the funding situation. Shenmue 3 will have several backers, Sony included, and the $2 million Kickstarter campaign was actually just a way to measure public interest in the title.

The whole situation has left a lot of people feeling quite conflicted. On the one hand, fans loved the original Shenmue games and it’s easy to see why. They were some of the best JRPGs to hit the market, both of them releasing to huge critical acclaim. On the other hand, Sony used their E3 conference to announce a Kickstarter campaign. The very thought of it leaves a lot of gamers with a sour taste in their mouths, and it’s also easy to see why. There’s something very sleazy about a huge corporation asking the public for funds.

Whatever your take on the situation, fans have made it abundantly clear that the public demand for Shenmue 3 is there.

If you’ve been keeping up with the new Fallout show on Amazon Prime, chances are you’ve been relying on PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium to access and enjoy one of Bethesda’s legendary RPGs. We decided to bypass the highly acclaimed Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3, opting instead to explore the vast landscapes of West Virginia in Fallout 76. Infamous for its initial reception, Todd Howard’s “Fallout with Friends” has evolved significantly over the past six years. However, does that imply the game is of high quality? Is it worth playing in 2024?

As we ventured out of Vault 76 for the very first time, we were determined to find the answers to those burning questions. Recalling our escapades on the Push Square YouTube channel, we encountered quest-giving NPCs—a feature that was surprisingly absent upon release—awe-inspiring bases built by fellow players—and an abundance of loot that could easily burden us 76 times over.

In the midst of the vast array of open-world online experiences, we found ourselves quite enthralled by the combination of 50s classics playing in the background as we obliterated the heads of ghouls. And to top it off, we were able to enjoy all of this with our friends. Exploring the wasteland in the company of a ragtag band of survivors adds a unique element to Fallout 76, setting it apart from other games in the series. However, does it manage to prevent us from uninstalling and transitioning to one of the mainline entries in the series? To discover more, be sure to watch the complete video!
