Mario Kart is one of the most popular Racing games in recent generations. Fans of the franchise will tell you how much they love this party game that has a very serious competitive edge to it. However, it seems like this has inspired people to join the ranks of Lambo-Man and Squall Leonheart. As there’s going to be an all-new racing track inspired by the Nintendo franchise.
HOCO Entertainment and Resorts has revealed their plans to build a Go-Kart speedway. This one is heavily inspired by Mario Kart’s antics. The new track will have the name of Niagara Speedway. Yes, it’s going to be in Canada, namely in Clifton Hill, one of the many theme parks near the popular landmark.
The attraction will open its doors by Spring of 2018. The racing track will consist heavily on 3-story corridors and spiral ascents. It will also include such things as slopes and a great “Roller-coaster” like experience altogether. The page that celebrates the circuit mentions that it’s like “Go-Kart on Steroids”.
So, what’s going on beneath the fun structure? The page that promotes the racing track boasts about how the several aspects of the racing track’s building and development: 6500 bolts, 425,920 lbs of steel, 1,620 Lineal Ft – Guard Rails, 1,375 Welded Assemblies and more went into the track for consumer protection and safety.
“Niagara Speedway is a marriage of traditional go-karts with the added fun & excitement of an elevated coaster styled track.” And it certainly will provide the experience once the doors will be opened. Let’s make clear, however, that there’s no official partnership with Nintendo in the development of this track.
When I see this sort of news, I’m reminded of the time Hugh Jackman came across the Real-life Mario Kart race. This was done in order to promote Mario Kart 8: Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch. It’s just so surreal to see how much games can influence people to make wonderful things to bring them to the real world. You can take a look at a test-ride on the track below.
