Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds Reaches 5 Million Sales

Whenever I talk about Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds and its popularity that deserves to be called for Game of the Year. I get constantly reminded harshly that it’s a game that is still in Early Access. What’s even funnier is that even with that the game has recently made quite the breakthrough in the terms of sales on the PC alone.

It’s no secret that Battlegrounds is very popular amongst a wide variety of users. A lot of players love the gameplay and the premise of being on a sort-of Hunger Games setting. And hey, I won’t discuss the fact that it’s successful because now. According to Steamspy, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds has sold more than 5 million copies in Steam. This basically means that the game must’ve sold 1 million copies in less than a month due to the fact that the other 4 Million were sold until June 22.

I am glad that this is one of the best PC exclusives we have gotten for the year. But I am also glad that the Xbox One will get a piece of the Battlegrounds cake. Since a lot of players are anxious to try it out on Microsoft’s console. And it’s funny because they have recently done a few other things to get into the gamer’s hearts despite being an indie game on Early Access.

These are old news, but Battlegrounds is known for beating Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in terms of audience during streams and also destroyed Grand Theft Auto V in terms of simultaneous users. Those are some incredible feats considering that the games I talked about are Triple A games that are used by a very high margin of users.

I seriously hope this game actually reaches Game of the Year status whenever it gets fully released during the last quarter of 2017. And that the game actually reaches cross-play with all of the other platforms besides PC whenever It gets to consoles. Hey, there are already plans for a PS4 version. So why not?

Continuing the legacy of Baldur’s Gate 3 falls into the hands of a different studio, as Larian Studios moves on to focus on their own original intellectual property. Given the studio’s impressive track record, there is a great deal of anticipation surrounding their upcoming project. The team allegedly experienced immense pressure when embarking on their enigmatic upcoming project, and founder and CEO Swen Vincke expresses gratitude that the studio has successfully overcome that initial obstacle.

In an interview with GamesRadar+ after the Digital Dragons conference in Poland, Vincke discussed the immense pressure the developers experienced when trying to follow up on the success of BG3: “In a pivotal moment, we found ourselves under immense pressure, but I confidently declared, ‘Team, let’s cast aside all distractions and focus on the task at hand.” Isn’t that correct? We’re going to create another game. “And we’ll prioritize that.”

Expanding on the topic, Vincke emphasized that the studio’s upcoming project must be a game that the developers themselves would be eager to play. Although it may appear daunting, the developer’s gut instinct has carried them this far. “Clearly, it’s a highly ambitious endeavor.” If we are unable to trust our instincts due to overwhelming external pressures or the fear of meeting people’s expectations, our chances of success will be slim, resulting in a catastrophic outcome. Our main priority should be creating a game that we genuinely enjoy playing. And if it’s that, then we’ll be fine.”

Death Stranding 2 is currently in the ‘adjustment phase’ after completing filming and recording

The highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2, is inching closer to its release. Recent reports suggest that the motion capture filming and recording for the game have been successfully completed. Now, the project will enter an “adjustment phase,” where the renowned creator Hideo Kojima will fine-tune every aspect until it meets his exacting standards.

As reported by Famitsu (translated by Automaton, thanks to GamesRadar+), Kojima recently made an appearance on a radio broadcast to discuss the ongoing development of the game. The meticulous director announced the completion of filming and recording for the cast of Death Stranding 2, leaving some uncertainty about whether he was referring to the English or Japanese cast.

Additionally, Kojima mentions that the game is currently going through an “adjustment phase” that he anticipates will last for at least a year. This phase will focus on refining gameplay and visual elements, giving the QA team ample time to address any lingering bugs or glitches. We’ll have to exercise patience and wait until the latter half of 2025 to get our hands on it, at the very least.
