Iron Galaxy, aka the developers of the classic Killer Instinct, have just released information and a cinematic trailer for their brand-new action game entitled Extinction.
The impressive, action-packed trailer shows a medieval town being ravaged by a colossal monster and its minions who are brutally feeding on innocent humans attempting to flee for their lives. A young warrior clad in red armor steps in and wreaks havoc on the creatures with his blade and an impressive set of acrobatic skills.
An official website is up online, where more information on the story is revealed:
“From time immemorial, the world has been at war. For generations, humans have fought one another for land and riches while our true enemies have lurked in the distance: throngs of ravenous monsters standing 150 feet tall that aim to destroy our kind. Only those trained in the ways of the ancient order stand a chance at defeating these monstrosities, known colloquially as “ogres.” You are one of the world’s last defenders, a warrior named Avil equipped with the skill, speed and strength to oppose the endless wave of Ravenii and prevent a fate worse than death: Extinction.”
The game will include a deep story campaign where you will need to protect the human population from brutal opponents. There will also be dynamic side missions, skill based combat, interactive environments and custom battles, amongst other things.
The website hints towards actual gameplay footage at E3 this year, so that’s certainly something to look forward too. Extinction will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox one and is set to be released early 2018.
