ATARI

I know, some young gamers are probably going to ask “What is an ATARI “? And, I’m sure there are some other people who know about the past about the company, so I’ll be brief. ATARI was one of the pioneers of gaming, their console the 2600 being their most famous invention. They were a competitor of Nintendo and SEGA with the Jaguar console (Although they failed) followed by an awful string of games including a remake of Alone in the Dark everyone loves to hate. And also a Driver game that has been the cause of one of the first gamer gates we’ve had.

I’ll be frank with this, this is a very odd piece of news to write. I don’t even know how to feel regarding this situation, ATARI has been a company that’s been all over the place in the gaming industry. Considering their track record, they have been doing badly to appease gamers with their games and they have been entering and exiting bankrupt a lot of times. Why are they suddenly trying to get back into the console market?

ATARI’s lack of detail.. Or confidence?

Even then, the ATARI box has had nothing besides a trailer that has me having more questions about the console itself. What’s the deal with it? What is it about? What games will be played with it? How does ATARI intend to contend with the giant three in the industry? All of these questions are answered with an “It’s a console with years in the making”.

Right, so I am supposed to believe them right away because they said “Years in the making”. I’m sorry, but I would prefer to get some details first before talking about it any further. And yeah, I know that they also said it’s based in “PC Technology” but, if you sit down and think about it. It’s also a big pile of nothing regarding information. They are just really vague about things, and they don’t want to reveal anything about it yet. If this is a contender against the other 3 giants in the industry… Then this shows a lack of confidence in the product.

Regardless, you can see the trailer on this page and visit their website in the case you’re curious to see nothing but a page that has the same video with a proposal to subscribe to get more information. Let’s give them the benefit of doubt and see how this console fares in the future, yeah?

I always wanted to be a journalist who listens. The Voice of the Unspoken and someone heavily involved in the gaming community. From playing as a leader of a competitive multi-branch team to organizing tournaments for the competitive scene to being involved in a lot of gaming communities. I want to keep moving forward as a journalist.

The latest trailer for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CGI film Resident Evil: Death Island, released July 25, features the outlandish action and melodrama that made the franchise a cult sensation.

This Resident Evil Avengers-esque team-up features Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers.

The T-Virus and killer whales take the gang to Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay, where a new nightmare awaits. In magnificent slow motion and with progressively heavier ordinance, the Dream Team will supposedly destroy zombies, Lickers, mutant orcas, and anything else foolish or nasty enough to stand in their path.

Sony’s PS5 firmware update is everyone’s favorite news story. It’s been a while, but don’t get too excited—this is just a minor one. No biggie.

PS5 system software 23.01-07.40.00 does what? Latest firmware patch notes:

  • System software performance and stability increased.
  • We improved screen messaging and usability.

That’s it! Sony’s definition of “some screens” is unclear, but perhaps it improves communications. PS5 messages weren’t a problem, though. The update is barely over 1GB, so updating your console won’t take long.

Excited for this PS5 update?

Want more classic Metal Gear Solid remakes on PS5? You’ll need to speak Konami’s language—dollar bills—to express your desire.

“Regarding remakes of previous games in the series other than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, we will listen to player demand and consider accordingly,” a Konami official told IGN.

Konami explained that “we chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of Big Boss (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series.” Fans wishing it would last forever contributed.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, yes? Maybe you’ll buy another disc to show Konami you’ll pay again?
