Humans are slowly destroying the planet every day, even if they realize it or they don’t. Of course it is debatable if the natural climate change is causing the most harm to our habitat or if humans are the main cause of the decaying of our home planet. Most people are clueless in regards of what we can do to end this.
But now there is ironically an app designed to help you see how much damage you actually bring to the climate. The app is created by researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology who partnered with Ducky AS and it isn’t only useful, it is also interactive. With Ducky people can track their carbon footprint in detail while they compete with other friends to see who can lower their emissions the most or help each other to save the planet.
“With Ducky, you can easily see the environmental impact of actions you take in everyday life and learn about why they’re important. Our goal is to create a business that is not only sustainable economically, but also socially and environmentally.” Said the co-founder of Duck AS, Silje Strøm Solberg.
The app will allow you to see carbon emissions from your everyday tasks and uses calculations from NTNU’s Industrial Ecology Program which will determine an accurate value for every activity.
If the people can post their stupid stuff every day on social media, they can at least check what they are doing wrong in their every day activities and help lower the CO2 emissions. Currently Ducky exists on the web, but will soon be released as a mobile app in 2016.
