Counter-Strike Co-Creator is “A risk to the community”.
A few weeks ago, Jess Cliffe, co-creator of Counter Strike was detained by the Seattle Police Department. The charges he faced back in February 2, 2017 were that of child exploitation. The man was initially denied his bail freedom and many people were waiting on information regarding the subject..
Well, according to Ars Technica, Jess Cliffe appeared in a King County courtroom on Friday, where his bail was set for $150,000 following his booking in a King County jail on Thursday over allegations of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to the allegations, Cliffe contacted at least one minor via a website and paid her for sex “multiple times.” In one encounter, Cliffe purportedly videotaped his sexual contact with this unnamed witness “against her will.” After that encounter, the unnamed witness “stopped contact between the parties,” the prosecutor alleged.
The prosecutorial office did not provide any additional details beyond this. There is a slight probability that this was a misunderstanding as the Defense party has pointed out.
Zachary Wagnild, the representative of Cliffe’s defense team mentioned one key factor in this case. “Even if the facts are true as claimed, this was a meeting on an adult website, He was not looking for underage women and had no idea this woman was underage.”
Considering the evidence shown by both the Defense Attorney and Prosecutor Office. Judge Ron Benjamin pointed out that Cliffe “Has not been charged with a crime at this point”.
As such, a $150,000 USD bail was set by the Judge and Cliffe ended up being regarded as “A risk to the community based on these findings”. A no-contact order was set between Cliffe and the witness, and the order is set to expire February 23.
Judge Benjamin also upheld the prosecutor’s additional request that Cliffe be ordered to not possess firearms for the same amount of time. Of course, the retaliation from Valve Software is the fact that Cliffe has been suspended until further notice on this issue.
The whole case is sort of sketchy. However, it’s just incredible how many people are starting to pop up. And what bothers me the most is the fact that it’s always the person you think the least. Much like how the brony community got impacted by a case similar to this.
But this is the reality of things sometimes. Some people simply put up a nice double life and do shady stuff behind closed doors. I was once robbed by people who seemed like College Graduates, for example. I guess the lesson here is that you’ll never really know.

ReFantazio Takes a Different Approach to Romance, Setting Itself Apart from the Persona Games
Atlus’ highly anticipated RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, appears to incorporate familiar systems reminiscent of the developer’s acclaimed Persona series. The game features turn-based battles that heavily rely on exploiting enemy weaknesses. Additionally, players have the ability to summon warrior spirits during combat. However, the most significant aspect of this game, which will be discussed in this article, is the bonding system. Through this system, players can spend time with important characters and gain deeper insights into their personalities and stories.
In contrast to the Persona games, the bonding system ends at that point. Unfortunately, players will be unable to pursue romantic relationships with their beloved waifus, which may come as a disappointment to those who have developed strong feelings for Hulkenberg, the party’s charismatic red-haired elven knight.
According to Siliconera, the absence of romance came up during a recent question and answer session. Atlus emphasized the continued opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with your allies while also introducing additional narratives through substories. In addition, familiarizing yourself with the supporting characters will grant you access to new archetypes, which serve as the game’s character classes.
In the Persona games, romance is not obligatory; rather, it serves as a means to customize your playthrough. However, it is quite unexpected that Metaphor has chosen not to pursue such a venture, considering the significant amount of discussion it typically generates!
Were you anticipating any romantic elements in Metaphor? If you’re not satisfied with your pre-order, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
