Say goodbye to OnePlus One invites, for good this time

Say goodbye to OnePlus One invites, for good this time
John Cusack
April 20, 2015

OnePlus has finally scraped the OnePlus One invites program after almost a year since the phone has been in the market. In the past few months, OnePlus One invites were option on every Tuesday of the week, but the rest of the week people needed an invite to buy the flagship killer, while Indian customers needed an invite all the time. Today, the Chinese company announced on their blog that the OnePlus One invites system is now history, and the phone will be available for purchase no matter when, with no price change, which is excellent news. As Europeans still have an increased price for the OnePlus One, U.S. customers will still be able to buy the phone for the same price.

While the cancellation of the OnePlus One invites system is good news, even better news is that later today, the company would be launching something new, although we don’t know what. Our hunch is that we’re talking OnePlus 2, as the blog post of the company does reveal that the OnePlus Two will launch with the invites system at first, anticipating a very large demand. Although it’s not sure that we’re actually looking at the OnePlus 2 launch date, it is good news that the OnePlus One invites system has been scraped and people from all around the world can now buy the phone whenever they want to.

Moreover, the company also announced massive discounts on accessories, namely the Flip Covers and Premium Screen Protectors, for the next 24 hours. To be even more exciting, the Bamboo covers that are so popular will also be available without an invite today, while supplies last of course. This is good news from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer behind the flagship killer and is building up anticipation for the OnePlus 2 which should be launching soon enough. We will keep you up to date with what the company reveals later today.
